Sri Lanka Masters Hockey Tour
Dates: 28 February, 2025 – 9 March, 2025
Suzi and Russell Wood are canvassing various Masters players 55+ (men and women) interested in travelling to Sri Lanka to play some scratch matches against Sri Lankan Masters teams and help run / support potential coaching clinics (may include Juniors). If possible, we will also try to bring donated hockey uniforms / equipment across.

Hockey Itinerary will be negotiated with our Sri Lankan contact when we can confirm we have a team (or two, 1 x men's and 1 x women's). Arrive in Colombo by Friday 28 Feb and possibly one or two matches over the weekend in Colombo and / or Matale. Both venues will have laid new turfs by the end of this year. We have offered to conduct some coaching clinics during the week and perhaps one mid-week game. Midweek sightseeing to Kandy, Iconic Train ride, Cooking Classes and National Parks. Lots of free time with aim to play maximum of three matches. Final match on Saturday 8 March to depart that night or Sunday 9 March. There is potential to shift the dates to a little earlier to coincide with Singapore Sixes if that suits more people.
The Sri Lankan clubs are also looking for some WA Premier League players to play in a hockey festival between September and October to celebrate the laying of new turfs. They are hoping to attract individual players to play with different teams. Whilst they are unable to pay the players they will provide billets and transport for duration of players stay.
World Grand Masters Hockey Tournament
Nottingham Hockey Centre, UK
Dates: 29 June – 6th July, 2025
We are looking in particular for a Masters Womens Over 60 team to participate in this tournament and there is potential also for a Masters Over 65 Men’s team that would play under the Australian Wanderers umbrella.
