WMH Announcement – World Cup 2022 Dates & Venues

World Masters Hockey


After postponements and cancellations due to Covid 19, WMH is delighted to announce that the 2022 World Cups for Masters Hockey will be played in four different continents, starting with the WMH Indoor Hockey World Cup in the USA in early 2022. These will be the inaugural events for WMH and we thank everyone for their support, over the past few years, which has allowed us to get to this point. Here are the details:


Indoor World Cup
February 15 – 20 – Virginia Beach, USA
O45 W & M
O50 W & M


Outdoor World Cup
August 12-21 – Nottingham, England
O35 W & M
O40 W & M


October 1-10 – Cape Town, RSA
O45 – O55 M
O45 – O65 W
O55 M Spirit of Masters
O55 – O65 W Spirit of Masters


October 19-29 – Tokyo, Japan
O60 – O80 M
O60 – O80 M Spirit of Masters


Links to the host nations’ websites will be provided by WMH in the coming weeks.
WMH will be emailing expressions of interest for the Indoor Hockey World Cup in the very near future, so keep an eye out for those.
While WMH and the host nations are excited to announce these dates, we do still need to keep in mind that the health and safety of all players and participants is paramount, and so we continue to monitor the effects of the pandemic and will notify you immediately if anything changes.

Following on from Hockey Australia’s announcement about the Mega Masters National Championships, expressions of interest are called for suitably qualified officials to officiate in Technical and Umpiring Panels at the Mega Masters National Championships 2021 in Newcastle and surrounds.  Expressions of interest will close on Monday 22 March 2021Note: this is not quite 2 WEEKS away!

 

All selected officials are expected to abide by the Hockey Australia Officials Code of Conduct (Attachment D4) - https://www.hockey.org.au/officiate/resources/.  Interested officials should also familiarise themselves with the 2021 Mega Masters Championship Officials’ Role Descriptions – links below - before completing expressions of interest.  This document has been split into three documents catering for two different dates due to the way the event has been split for Covid-19 management reasons.  Please consider this carefully as you decide which position/s you wish to apply for.
