WA scored an early field goal with a successful one on one contest against the goaly by Helen Gandy at the 10 minute mark.
WA then had a number of significant opportunities and put pressure on SA.
The second half brought 2 excellent goals for WA from short corners. Meg Prentice scored early from a direct shot on goals.
The final goal was a short corner deflection from Meg Prentice to Jill Sheehan.
A solid team effort and a great win.

WA vs QLD - Xxxday, October ?, 2010
The 50s lost 1-0 to Queensland. The match was very close and we missed a number of opportunities to score.
The last 15 minutes of the second half we defended a number of short corners with the Queenslanders prevailing in the last six minutes of the game.

WA vs VIC - Sunday, October 3, 2010
WA lost 2-1 and this was disappointing as we had many scoring opportunities. And we controlled the game for the majority of the game.
Although Victoria scored early in the first half, WA had the majority of the play and we quickly responded.
Our goal was an excellent conversion of a short corner at the top of the D from Alison Cooper early in the first half.
Victoria scored its second goal 10 minutes into the second half.
Despite a relentless response from WA including a short corner which was disallowed, we were unable to convert

WA vs ACT - Tuesday, October 5, 2010
WA won 2-0 in a strong, physical game.
Helen Gandy scored the first goal with some assistance from Ricky Whelan in the first half. This was followed quickly by a team goal involving many players but finished by Jill Shehan.
The second half saw no goals being scored from either side despite a number of close opportunities.
WA looked in control of this game at all times.

WA vs NSW - Wednesday, October 6, 2010
WA played NSW in the final pool round.
This was our worst game with our injuries slowing us down and we were soundly beaten 3-0.
We still made the top 4 however so can compete in the cross over finals.

WA vs QLD - Friday, October 8, 2010
From the outset WA controlled the game and had numerous shots on goals but the goals continued to elude the WA side which was the story of this carnival.
Queensland scored a goal in the second half and WA despite a desperate effort from all, failed to convert any of the numerous opportunities, which was extremely disappointing.
Spectators told us we were the better team with most of the control but the scoreboard told a different story.
We lost 1-0 and Queensland went on to win the gold medal against NSW.

WA vs VIC for the Bronze Medal - Saturday, October 9, 2010
Yet again WA had a strong start with many scoring opportunities but the goals eluded us yet again.
We had a couple of exciting runs including a last ditch run down the field and a pass to Jill Shehan but unfortunately luck was not on her side.
Leanne Tate and Gail Westland were sidelined with serious injuries and could not finish the game.
Neither team was able to score so WA finished equal third with a totally unsatisfying and frustrating draw.
Apart from NSW, WA were capable of beating every other team and when the outcome for our age group was Gold to Queensland, one cannot help but wonder could have been.
