WA vs QLD2 - Thursday, September 24, 2015
A Nervous start by WA being our first game of the tournament.
Captain Janese McDougall welcomes new players Lyn Stowe & Jan Arcus and wished all players a great game.
It wasn’t long before WA started to dominate in both attack and defence and settled into playing a very smart structured game.
There were many impressive moves from the strikers and a lot of hard off the ball running resulting in 3 lovely field goals and 2 goals were scored from Penalty corners.
Coach Coleen was very impressed with the teams versatility and of course a great win

WA vs QLD1 - Friday, September 25, 2015
WA had the first pass back and went straight into attack and became the dominate team but unable to convert in the first half.
After half time we came out fighting and Jill Sheehan scored a field goal.
A great team effort with the forwards playing a great attacking role with the defence holding strong and keeping the Queenslanders out of their goal.
The icing on the cake was a penalty stroke which capitalised on a brilliant opportunity resulting in Jill Sheehan scoring another goal.
Great team game by all.

WA vs VIC - Sunday, September 27, 2015
We started with the ball. Bit of a slow start. Not quite as good as we would have liked.
Vic’s were playing their game & whilst we were not under any real pressure we were reacting rather than proactive.
WA had a couple of chances.
At the quarter time break we know we have to settle and play our game.
On a corner Alma was so fast she was sent back to the half line.
2nd quarter we began passing the ball around the back and using a two on one passing, started to play our style.
Half time score nil all.
Third quarter, played our style marking up really well, pressing up high. Backs not much to do.
Only a couple of minutes in we got a short corner and did a system that saw Janese score a goal.
WA playing well as a team, Vics trying hard to upset, not working.
Another corner a couple of minutes later, another system no luck.
A few moments later another corner, another system and bang another goal off a short corner to Janese.
4th Quarter we were all over them. Marking well and closing them down. Vic’s had four really high players but not a threat. We closed them down and kept the ball in our half.
Great team effort on and off the field, everyone ran well - did our job.

WA vs NSW - Monday, September 28, 2015
In hot and humid conditions, WA began their 4th game for the tournament against NSW.
Not one of our better games but we did lift in the 4th quarter.
Probably our hardest game.
Losing 2 - 0 perhaps this is the off day that sometimes happens.
Ice baths and massage were the highlight of the day.

WA vs ACT - Wednesday, September 30, 2015
ACT won the toss and WA had the first pass back.
WA were quickly into attack and scored 2 goals from Penalty corners in the first quarter.
Both goals scored by Jill Sheehan.
WA penetrated the attacking circle 12 times and forced another 3 penalty corners which resulted in 12 shots at goals in total, but were not able to add to the score.
ACT held firm in the defensive circle and the final score was 2 nil to WA.
The backline players for WA were very steady and cool under pressure.
Result: WA 2 - ACT 0

Qualifying Final WA vs QLD - Thursday, October 1, 2015
In Great conditions the WA 60s met the Qld 60s in the first crossover. WA was quickly into attack and a great pass saw Alma score our first goal with a great deflection.
Soon after, a great individual effort saw Jill Sheehan make a Rick Charlesworth type pass to Dot Glass who finished it superbly with her first goal of the tournament.
WA 2 up first quarter.
2nd quarter saw some great hockey but two lapses in defence proved costly.
The score was 2 all at half time.
The 3rd quarter was dogged with both teams working to create goal scoring opportunities with Dale Keiley in particular creating and working hard up the front.
WA were awarded a penalty stroke but were unable to convert.
4th Quarter saw WA defend grimly and with the final result being a two all draw we move into the Grand final due to our higher position on the ladder after the qualifying rounds.

Grand Final WA vs NSW - Saturday, October 3, 2015

WA exploded out of the blocks with Alma scoring a field goal 2 minutes into the game.
NSW equalised just before half time.
The second half was hard fought with WA having opportunities.
At the end of the game it was 1 all, which meant the game went to “one on ones”.
Result: WA 2 - NSW 3
WA won SILVER !!
